Ekram AlHaq was founded by the late Dr. Ekram Al-Haq Baker following a career in public service and law. His private practice grew into a firm advising businesses and rights holders on intellectual property, corporate matters, and legal issues in Iraq.
As the needs of our clients have evolved, so has our practice—from trademark and patent protection to industrial designs, company registration, commercial contracts, and domain names.
Today, the firm continues that work under the leadership of his son, Adv. Ameen Baker, combining the experience built over more than four decades with a modern approach to intellectual property protection and legal services.

Dr. Ekram Al-Haq Baker
The late Dr. Ekram Al-Haq Baker established the firm in 1981, bringing together legal scholarship, public service, and practical experience advising businesses in Iraq.
He graduated from the University of Baghdad’s College of Law in 1966 and later earned a PhD in Law from the University of Nice in France. Before entering private practice, he served as a governmental legal adviser on development contracts and economic projects.
In private practice, he advised foreign companies on their operations in Iraq and helped protect their trademarks and patents. His experience and dedication to the law laid the foundation for the firm’s work today.
